The MistTime units come with a temperature sensor included in the box. This sensor is not pre-wired and must be installed in order for the controller to work properly.
The sensor allows the MistTime to react to the temperature in the greenhouse and influence the activation or the interval between misting cycles. The sensor can work as a method of activating a mist cycle. The MistTime can be set so that once the temperature in the zone reaches the set temperature, the unit will begin a misting cycle until the temperature decreases below the set point. For example: if the temperature set-point is 80˚F, the unit will only mist at 80˚ or higher. The sensor can also work to increase the frequency of misting as the temperature rises. The MistTime can be set so that once the temperature in the zone reaches the set temperature, the unit will begin a misting cycle. A secondary temperature, in terms of a bandwidth, can also be set. Additionally a minimum and maximum interval time is set. As the temperature increases above the set-point, the frequency of misting increases from the maximum to the minimum interval time proportionally along the bandwidth. For example: if the temperature set-point is 80˚F, the bandwidth is 10˚, the maximum interval is 10 minutes and the minimum interval is 5 minutes, the MistTime will start misting at 80˚ every 10 minutes. As the temperature increases from 80˚ to 90˚ (10˚) the interval time will proportionally adjust from 10 minutes down to 5 minutes between cycles.
